Under the Laws of the Game, there is no mention of socks. The only requirement is that you have them and that they cover your shinguards. Now, there MAY be a local ruling banning letters on socks but I doubt it.

I live in Arizona, and all I know is that our rules require the home team to wear white socks, and the away team to wear dark ones. Can't tell you anything about lettering though.

I don’t have any idea what the answer is to your question, but I feel compelled to say that if there IS a rule about lettering on socks then the Maryland High School Athletic Association is a bunch of over-zealous morons with way too much time on their hands.

I say order the socks with the letters. What are they going to do? Fine you for illegal socks? Not play the games becuase of illegal socks? If that’s the case then they don’t have the best interest of the students in mind and they’re killing any kind of creativity and individuality your team may want to display.

That type of effort to homogenize athletics is counter-productive. Unless you’re putting dollar signs on your socks… That might make the public school kids a little pissed.

For your uniform problem u can go to soccer.com and order ur uniforms, for your sock problem i really don't know.

High school soccer uniform question?
I play high school soccer in Maryland and under those rules. Our team is a private school. Our team wants to order socks that would match our uniform colors, burgundy and white. The socks would be burgundy with white letters that would say our school name or mascot on them. We would also order a pair white with burgundy letters. We were told by someone that letters on socks are illegal. This is in Western Maryland, if that matters. Are these socks illegal? What are the rules concerning socks? And please post a link if you can! Thank you!
We have uniforms just not socks.
